Giant Eagle is making a change with its fuelperks program, reports CBS news affiliate KDKA.

The grocer said it was moving the benefit to an enhanced myPerks Loyalty Program on Jan. 25. Shoppers who still have fuelperks when the change occurs will be able to convert them to their myPerks account.

“We are merging the best benefits of fuelperks and myPerks into a single loyalty program…[myPerks] will allow the added choice of dollar rewards,” the company said in a statement.

Currently, fuelperks shoppers can only take a percentage off the cost at the pump or in the grocery store, but with the new loyalty program they could choose the percentage or dollar savings. The new system will also notify them of what would be the better choice at the point of purchase.

Accounts will automatically be adjusted on Jan. 25, but customers can make the transition at an earlier date if necessary.
