SAN ANTONIO — H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here will open a new H-E-B store in Burleson, Texas later this week, marking the arrival of its conventional stores in the Dallas Metroplex for the first time.

A powerhouse in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, H-E-B has operated its Central Market concept in Dallas but has not operated a conventional store there. The 88,000-square-foot store in Burleson will offer both H-E-B and Central Market products and feature specialty departments including healthy living, meat, seafood, scratch bakery, a tortilleria, specialty cheeses, wines and a demonstration kitchen, the company said.

Jeff Thomas, senior vice president and general manager of H-E-B's Central Texas region in a statement said that Bureleson "is a natural progression for the growth of H-E-B stores in North Texas."

Burleson is located approximately 13 mils south of Fort Worth and 49 miles Southwest of Dallas. The nearest H-E-B store is less than 15 miles South in Cleburn, Texas.
