ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Ingles Markets here is preparing to expand its iMarket convenience store concept outside its home state for the first time in October when it opens an outlet of the 1,800-square-foot banner in Farragut, Tenn., according to reports. According to Ingles’ website, the chain currently operates three iMarket c-stores, all in North Carolina. The Tennessee location would be adjacent to a 93,000-square-foot Ingles in Farragut, the Knoxville, Tenn., News Sentinel reported yesterday. Ingles could not be reached for comment. Kroger is scheduled to open a 113,000-square-foot Marketplace store nearby just a few days prior to Ingles’ scheduled opening, the newspaper said.
