Judge Approves Nevada Wal-Mart Settlement

LAS VEGAS — A district court judge here has approved a settlement of a class-action lawsuit against Wal-Mart here in which the retailer will pay between $65 million and $85 million to settle wage-and-hour claims against it, law officials said.
The Nevada case covered 39 separate class-action lawsuits accusing the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer of forcing employees to work through breaks or off the clock and failing to pay overtime. Wal-Mart said late last year it had reserved up to $640 million to settle this and other lawsuits.
