Khaledi, Detherage Lauded by CGA

The California Grocers Association here said yesterday it has selected two inductees into the CGA Educational Foundation Hall of Achievement.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Grocers Association here said yesterday it has selected two inductees into the CGA Educational Foundation Hall of Achievement.

They are Darioush Khaledi, chairman and chief executive officer of K.V. Mart Co., Los Angeles, and Doug Detherage, director of customer relations for Bimbo Bakeries U.S.A., Fort Worth, Texas.

A dinner to honor them is scheduled for March 18 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif. Ronald Fong, CGA president and CEO, said both men "exemplify all the important qualities of our great industry. They are individuals who have made a difference."

Khaledi operates a chain of supermarkets under several banners, including Top Valu and Valu Plus. Detherage joined Oroweat as a district manager in 1984; Oroweat was subsequently purchased by Bimbo Bakeries U.S.A.
