Kroger recalls bags of collard greens across 10 states

Kroger stores across 10 states have been busy removing packages of collard greens following a recall due to a potential listeria risk, reports Eating Well. 

Baker Farms, based in Norman Park, Ga., issued the voluntary recall on 16-ounce bags of Kroger collard greens. The items have a UPC code of 11110-18171 and a best-by date of Oct. 16. They also carry a production code of 110093-387.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture discovered possible contamination during routine product testing, which is when Baker Farms alerted the Cincinnati-based grocer of the recall.

Most of the collard greens were distributed to Krogers in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Stores in parts of Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri also were put on high alert.

Kroger said it has removed all of the bags from the shelves, and so far no incidents have been reported.
