WESTWOOD, Mass. — In a vote expected to pave the way for Wegmans’ first store in Massachusetts, state officials have voted to approve a beer and wine license for the Westwood Station retail project here, published reports said this week.

Pending approval of the bill by Gov. Deval Patrick, Wegmans is expected to apply for the license. Developers in May said that Wegmans would be an anchor of Westwood Station, a $2 billion mixed-use project here, but was waiting to see whether it could obtain a liquor license before committing.
