MOM’s Organic Market has committed to leasing 16,000 square feet as part of a high-profile warehouse redevelopment in Center City Philadelphia, developers announced Tuesday.
The site is part of the East Market redevelopment, a blockwide mixed-use project combining residential, office and retail space under development by National Real Estate Advisors. Phase 1 of the project, including the MOM’s store at 34 S. 11th St., is scheduled to open in spring 2016, the developers said.

“The mission and clientele of MOM’s Organic Market aligns perfectly with East Market,” Daniel Killinger, director of development for East Market, said in a statement. “East Market will be a dynamic urban environment for young professionals and innovators who place value on experience and convenience. We are full speed ahead building an exciting development and look forward to adding more tenants that fulfill the vision of reviving Market Street.”
Rockville, Md.-based MOM's operates 12 stores including a Philadelphia area location in Bryn Mawr, Pa. The East Market project would be its first in the city. The store will feature free electric car chargers, bulk foods, local and organic meats, sustainable seafood, gluten-free foods and Naked Lunch, an all-organic vegetarian eatery.
