Mrs. Green's closes in Hartsdale; Best Yet taking over
Natural Markets Food Group will be closing its Mrs. Green’s location in Hartsdale, N.Y. after nearly two years in business at the location, and sources said the site would be leased to Best Yet Market.
The Mrs. Green’s Natural Markets store in Hartsdale, N.Y. has closed nearly two years after it opened, a spokesman for parent company Natural Markets Food Group told SN.
The 20,000-square-foot store opened in November of 2013 as a replacement store for the original Mrs. Green’s location, also in Hartsdale. Sources said the site would be leased to Best Yet Market, a Bethpage, N.Y.-based chain that operates Best Market stores.
“Mrs. Green’s has been committed to providing customers and families in Hartsdale and across Westchester access to sustainable seafood, humanely-raised meat, farm-fresh, organic produce, natural vitamins, supplements and cutting edge healthy food choices for over 20 years,” Pat Brown, CEO of Natural Markets Food Group, said in a statement. “While we are transitioning this one store to a new grocer, we will continue to support our loyal associates and customers and help them transition to neighborhood stores in the area, including Eastchester, Rye and Tarrytown. The entire Mrs. Green’s family wants to thank the Hartsdale community for their loyalty over the years.”
Brown, who joined Mrs. Green’s last year, has said the company would look to operate smaller units as it shifts its emphasis to locally sourced foods.
