PARAMUS, N.J. — New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine on Wednesday lauded the opening of the first Fairway Market store in the state here.

“This is exactly the kind of private investment we need to generate community development and job creation opportunities while keeping our state moving through this national recession,” Corzine said in a statement.

Fairway, the specialty and gourmet retailer based in New York, opened a 50,000-square-foot store at the Fashion Center Mall on Wednesday.
