BOULDER, Colo. — Sunflower Markets will close its Newflower Market store in West Plano, Texas, next month, reports said Thursday.

The store opened at the site of a former Albertsons location less than two years ago.

Sunflower, which operates stores under the Newflower name in Texas, will continue to operate its other Dallas area store, its chief executive officer, Mike Gilliland, said in a Dallas Morning News report. The company is also scouting new sites in the area. Plano is one of the Dallas area’s most well-to-do neighborhoods.

Plano is one of the Dallas area’s most well-to-do neighborhoods. The Newflower store competed with nearby natural grocers including Sprouts Farmers Market and Whole Foods.
