TYLER, Texas Services were held here March 6 for Tim King, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Brookshire Grocery Co., who died March 3 at age 38 after a brief illness. King first joined Brookshire Grocery, a privately held chain, at the age of 16 as a part-time warehouse worker while in high school. He continued to work for Brookshire through his graduation from college in 1984.

TYLER, Texas — Services were held here March 6 for Tim King, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Brookshire Grocery Co., who died March 3 at age 38 after a brief illness. King first joined Brookshire Grocery, a privately held chain, at the age of 16 as a part-time warehouse worker while in high school. He continued to work for Brookshire through his graduation from college in 1984. After college, King worked for an accounting firm before joining Brookshire again as an accountant in 1990. He had worked in a series of financial positions at the chain during the last 20 years. As EVP and CFO, King oversaw all financial aspects of the company, including accounting, treasury, legal and risk management areas. His is survived by his parents, wife and two sons.
