Schnuck Markets lets Rewards customers choose e-receipts
New option aids COVID-19 safety by reducing contact at checkout
August 21, 2020
In another coronavirus safety measure, Schnuck Markets has started issuing electronic receipts to Schnucks Rewards program members to reduce contact at checkout.
The St. Louis-based grocer said yesterday that Schnucks Rewards members can have their receipt emailed to them or access it at any time in the Schnucks Rewards mobile app.
“Our customers and teammates continue to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Chace MacMullan, director of digital experience at Schnucks, said in a statement. “As with the many other precautions customers see at our stores, e-receipts are another option we would ask them to consider to reduce touchpoints for customers and teammates.”
To use the e-receipt option, Schnucks Rewards members open the program’s app and click “More” and “My Account” then go into the “Settings” menu and select the “Schnucks Rewards App Only” or “Schnucks Rewards App and Email” receipt preference. Members can revert to “Paper Receipts” at any time by reselecting that option in the Settings menu.

The Schnucks Rewards app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those who don’t have a smartphone can visit Schnucks.com/rewards and use their phone number to create an account and then use the option to select receipts.
Earlier this month, Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck posted a message to customers to thank them for their COVID-19 safety efforts, such as wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing in stores, observing reserved shopping time for seniors, and using contactless Schnucks Delivers delivery and curbside online grocery options if they feel ill.
“There are so many things we are doing differently, and I want you to know that Schnucks is working around the clock to provide you with a clean, safe shopping experience,” Schnuck said in the message. “While there have been countless changes at Schnucks, and in our world as a whole, together we can grow from these experiences, control how we face future challenges, and build a better tomorrow for all.”
Overall, Schnuck Markets operates 112 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
