Services Held for Murdered Redner’s VP

Services were held here yesterday for Gary W. Redner, a vice president at his family’s supermarket chain who police said was killed at his home in Lower Heidelburg Township, Pa., either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Services were held here yesterday for Gary W. Redner, a vice president at his family’s supermarket chain who police said was killed at his home in Lower Heidelburg Township, Pa., either Saturday night or Sunday morning. Redner, 55, was a son of Earl Redner, founder of the 39-store Redner’s Markets chain, based in Reading, Pa. According to reports, services took place at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, followed by burial in Leesport Cemetery. His brother, Richard, continues to run the family business. Their mother, Mary G. Redner, who co-founded the chain in 1970, died last year. Earl Redner retired in 1990. As of yesterday, police said they had not yet solved the crime, according to reports.
