Smith’s Food & Drug has reached a tentative agreement with union workers on a new contract, the retailer here said.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Smith’s Food & Drug has reached a tentative agreement with union workers on a new contract, the retailer here said.
The agreement covers more than 2,000 workers at 26 Smith’s stores here and in Santa Fe and Farmington, N.M. represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1564. Workers were voting on the new deal this week.
Smith’s, a division of Kroger, Cincinnati, said it would not release details of the agreement until after workers approved it.
