Aldi US will open four new stores in four different states on Thursday, as the no-frills German discount grocery chain continues its rapid brick-and-mortar expansion.

The new locations are part of the grocery retailer’s nationwide growth plan, which has seen more than 1,000 new Aldi store openings throughout the U.S. over the past decade. Aldi is looking to add 120 new stores this year, bringing its store count nationwide to more than 2,400.

On Thursday, Aldi will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the following new stores:

  • 960 South Barrington Road, Streamwood, Illinois

  • 8700 Parkview Avenue NE, Otsego, Minnesota

  • 2900 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, Florida

  • 2324 Lineville Road, Suamico, Wisconsin

With the holiday season approaching, Aldi recently cut prices on over 70 Thanksgiving favorites. The new savings include items such as pumpkin pie, green beans and potatoes.

“With inflation still looming, we're providing shoppers extra relief to make the holidays a time for celebration, not stress,” said Dave Rinaldo, president of Aldi, said in a statement.

Founded in 1961, Aldi this year took the top spot as the most-trusted discount and small-format grocer, according to the 2023 Most Trusted Grocery Retailers in America list conducted by market research firm BrandSpark International in partnership with Winsight Grocery Business and Newsweek.
