H-E-B, Wegmans Food Markets and Trader Joe’s have been recognized by Glassdoor’s 10th annual Employees’ Choice Awards as the Top 100 Best Places to Work in 2018.

Citing its “fun culture, latest tech, leaders and company value,” H-E-B employee feedback earned the San Antonio-based retailer a 4.5 rating and a No. 20 rank on the list, marking its fifth consecutive year as one of Glassdoor’s best places to work.

“Unlike any other workplace award out there, Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list represents employers that truly stand out according to those who know a company best—the employees,” said Glassdoor CEO and co-founder Robert Hohman. “Employers where employees love to work continue to prove that they have a recruiting and business performance edge.”

Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback in a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.

Wegmans, based in Rochester, N.Y., ranked No. 49 with a 4.3 rating based on its “great work environment, decent pay and benefits for retail work,” according to a Collegeville, Pa.-based customer service representative for Wegmans—who also noted the opportunity and encouragement for growth within the company—and Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe’s followed at No. 70 and a 4.3 rating, with employees citing its “amazing products and a huge emphasis on top notch customer service.”

This year, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards featured six categories honoring companies across the U.S., Canada, U.K., France and Germany. In the U.S., the 100 Best Places to Work honors companies with 1,000 or more employees, while the 50 Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For awards employers with less than 1,000 staffers. Winners are ranked based on their overall rating achieved during the past year. (Ratings based on a 5-point scale: 1=very dissatisfied, 3=OK, 5=very satisfied; actual calculations extend beyond the thousandth decimal place.)

Other food industry companies that earned a spot on the 100 Best Places to Work list include:

  • No. 14: E. & J. Gallo Winery (4.5 rating)

  • No. 27: Nestle Purina (4.4 rating)

  • No. 54: Monsanto Co. (4.3 rating)
