IGA GIVES RETAILER AWARDS

CHICAGO -- The Independent Grocers Alliance here recognized the five best retailing operations in its 3,600-store system at the annual IGA International Retailers of the Year Breakfast here.

r, Wis., and A&F IGA in Adams, Wis.; Eddie Brown, owner of St. Stephen IGA in St. Stephen, S.C.; Jake and JoJo Schroder, co-owners of Thriftee Food and Drug IGA in Safford, Ariz.; Fred Shaker, owner of Shaker's IGA SuperCenter in Olmsted Township, Ohio; and Bill Tatsuda, owner of Tatsuda's IGA in Ketchikan, Alaska.

The awards are the highest honors IGA bestows upon its retailer members. They are presented annually to grocers who have best provided leadership and excellence in their communities.
