Jet.com is set to expand its offering of Asian and Korean food products and CPGs through a partnership with the nation's largest Asian food retail chain: H Mart.

The e-commerce website owned by Walmart now includes a selection of kimchi, Pocky snacks, noodles and other Asian staples from H Mart, the Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Asian food store chain. By adding H Mart to its long list of retail partners, Jet hopes to further extend an ongoing strategy to reach urban shoppers and those with a taste for specialty ethnic foods.

H Mart has 65 stores nationwide and offers its shoppers a wide array of Korean and Asian staples.

Last fall, Walmart rebranded Jet.com to offer a more convenient and personalized experience for city-dwelling consumers amid a growing sea of online shopping options.

Beginning its relaunch of Jet.com in New York, followed by rollouts in other cities, the company offers a tailored product assortment that features local brands and customized recommendations across grocery, home, fashion, beauty and electronics, as well as what it calls a “city grocery experience” while also offering three-hour same-day and next-day delivery options.

Jet is building assortment behind partnerships, including a newly launched shop for Fulton Fish Market, making Jet the largest e-commerce platform to team up with the brand, and the only platform to offer same-day delivery in New York.

In acquiring Jet three years ago, Walmart also acquired access to Jet's urban shoppers less likely to be customers of its flagship brand.
