Employee-owned grocery chain Publix Food Markets on Thursday opened its newest store in Orlando, Florida. The 48,387-square-foot store will be located at Town Center at O-Town West, 11055 Daryl Carter Parkway, the fast-growing Florida retailer said Thursday.

“We are excited to bring another Publix location to our customers in Orlando,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers and providing them with premier service and quality products.”

The Publix stores offer departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and produce, as well as a full-service bakery department and pharmacy, the grocer said.

The new location will also offer contactless pay options and grocery delivery via Instacart and pharmacy delivery.

On Thursday the grocer announced that Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) is donating $5 million to support more than 240 nonprofit housing programs throughout the Southeast, including 126 Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

“We’re committed to helping people in our communities build hope by putting roofs over their heads,” said PSMC Executive Director Kelly Williams-Puccio in a statement. “Our founder, George Jenkins, believed that a home gives individuals and families safety, independence and hope. With this donation, we’re honored to continue his legacy by helping people facing housing insecurity.”

Last month, Publix Food Markets opened four new stores, proving its growth is far from slowing.

Publix is one of the country's largest employee-owned grocers, with more than 240,000 associates on its payroll. The Lakeland, Florida-based grocery retailer operates 1,315 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
