Publix reopens in Daytona, Florida

Publix Super Markets reopened its Daytona Beach, Florida, location on Thursday at the Shoppes of Beville Road.

“We are excited to reopen this location for our customers in Daytona Beach,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers and providing them with premier service and quality products.”

The almost 47,000-square-foot store located at 1500 Beville Rd. replaces an older Publix grocery store that was torn down a year ago.

The store features departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce as well as a full-service bakery and pharmacy.

Contactless pay options, grocery delivery via Instacart and pharmacy delivery are all available, as well as centralized pick-up at the front of the store for grocery pick up via online ordering.

During the grand opening ceremony as a show of support to the Daytona Beach community, the Lakeland, Florida-based grocery retailer donated $2,000 in non-perishable items to Mother Mary’s Market, the campus food pantry at Bethune-Cookman University. The shelf-stable food will be delivered to Bethune-Cookman University by the Publix Good Together truck.

“We are proud to support our local community with the donation of these food items,” said Herring. “At Publix, we believe our greatest opportunity to give back is by helping put food on the tables of our neighbors in need, and we’re proud to make this donation during today’s grand opening.”

Earlier this month Publix reached a milestone donation of $100 million donated to March of Dimes. The Publix campaign raised nearly $6.4 million, putting it at the March of Dimes’ No. 1 corporate partner for the eighth year in a row.
