ShopRite on Sunday opened its newest store in Elmsford-Greenburgh, New York, transforming the 74,000-square-foot space into a state-of-the-art and full-service supermarket.

Located at 320 Saw Mill River Road in Westchester County, the new store employs close to 200 people and features ShopRite’s Fresh to Table concept.

“We are proud to open our new store in Elmsford and look forward to serving the community and providing ShopRite value, variety, and quality—along with exciting new store features, décor and design, and amenities,” said Steve Savas, president, Shop-Rite Supermarkets, Inc. (SRS), which operates ShopRite stores in New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and the Capital Region in New York.

The Wakefern Food Corp. banner also features a new modern design layout including ShopRite brand touchpoints such as digital platforms, circulars and store signage. Designed within the store’s existing footprint, Fresh to Table reinvents traditional produce and fresh departments to generate more sales from customers looking to save time and money. These include sections with ready-to-cook items, ready-to-heat and serve foods and ready-to-eat meals. The multi-purpose space also features new foods from ShopRite’s own brands, including ShopRite’s Bowl & Basket and Wholesome Pantry lines.

The Fresh to Table meals can be ordered using ShopRite’s Order Express app for delivery or via DoorDash as well as on ShopRite’s online shopping service.

In addition to grocery essentials, the new store features departments in all categories, including a meat department with trained butchers; a from-scratch bake shop; seafood department with fresh deliveries daily; and a floral department.

The store offers shoppers traditional and self-checkout lanes as well as online shopping, available for in-store pickup or home delivery. Looking to reduce its eco-footprint, ShopRite incorporated energy-efficient refrigeration and LED lighting throughout the store and parking lot.

Wakefern Food Corp., the country’s largest retailer-owned cooperative, includes ShopRite supermarkets in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.
