SpartanNash has announced Greg Crane as its new VP of finance, food distribution. Effective June 6, Crane will support the food distribution leadership team, and serve as finance business partner to Bennett Morgan, SVP and chief merchandising officer for Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash. 

The role also includes “leadership over budgeting, forecasting, monthly results analysis and risk and opportunity assessment activities for the food distribution business,” the company said in a release. 

“Our finance department is critical to the success of the company’s mission to deliver the ingredients for a better life,” said EVP and CFO Jason Monaco.

Crane is a registered certified public accountant and has more than 15 years of financial and operational experience, with skills in financial management, strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and performance optimization.

“We’re excited to welcome Greg to our team," Monaco said. "His experience leading high-performing teams and developing strategies to improve financial performance and growth will help us achieve our earnings targets and contribute to SpartanNash’s Operational Excellence.”

SpartanNash owns and operates 145 supermarkets under the banners of Family Fare, Martin's Super Markets, and D&W Fresh Market.
