Sprouts Celebrates 300th Store Opening
Retailer debuting first Palmetto State store on June 13. The retailer is debuting its first location in South Carolina on June 13.

Sprouts Farmers Market will hit a milestone on June 13 when it opens the doors of its 300th store located in Simpsonville, S.C. The retailer’s first location in the Palmetto State is in tandem with its ongoing expansion along the East Coast, where its stores are supported by a 260,000-square-foot distribution center in Georgia.
“As Sprouts continues to expand from coast to coast, we’re pleased with our guests’ response to our unique combination of health and value,” Sprouts Chief Development Officer Ted Frumkin said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the opening of the 300th Sprouts with our new neighbors in Simpsonville.”
Known for driving innovation in the natural and organic foods arena, Phoenix-based Sprouts has served as a platform for niche brands to expand to a larger consumer base. The 31,000-square-foot Simpsonville store will offer local products from South Carolina-based companies, including Black Mountain Chocolate, Bee Well Honey Farm, Hampton Acres and Slawsa.
Sprouts is celebrating the store’s grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony prior to store doors opening at 7 a.m. The retailer will also be making donations via the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation to local nonprofits Mill Village Farms and The Generous Garden Project by Thrive Upstate.
A series of grand-opening deals and promotions will be offered to local residents, including 20% discounts off initial total purchase for the first 200 shoppers, muffin and coffee samples for those waiting in line before doors open, and free reusable bags for all customers with a purchase.
The new Simpsonville store will also donate unsold and edible groceries to Harvest Hope Food Bank through the grocer’s Food Rescue program as part of Sprouts’ zero-waste commitment to help minimize food waste and reduce the impact of hunger and the company’s environmental footprint.
Last year, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 23 million pounds of product equivalent to 19 million meals. The retailer also distributes food that is unfit for donation to local cattle farms and composting facilities.
