Zallie Family Markets, a family-owned and operated South Jersey-based company, held a grand re-opening on Sunday for its ShopRite in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Located at 201 William Dalton Drive, the store renovation is one of the company’s investments this year as it celebrates 50 years in the supermarket business.

As part of its rebranding efforts, shoppers of the ShopRite of Glassboro will notice Zallie team members sporting new uniforms that reflect the company name change to Zallie Family Markets with a new logo that recognizes this year as their 50th Anniversary in business.

“We are excited to introduce a variety of new and enhanced offerings in our Glassboro store,” said David Zallie, president of Zallie Family Markets, in a statement. “This store renovation continues our family’s longstanding commitment to Glassboro and surrounding communities and is part of several store investments we are making throughout the company to enhance our customers’ experience. I want to thank our team members for their perseverance and our customers for their patience throughout the renovation at Glassboro. It was a long process but the finished results show that it was worth the wait.”

The store features a new cheese and charcuterie island, sushi and wok station, and grill and café.  The supermarket also includes renovated departments in bakery, deli, produce, dairy, meat and frozen.

The catering and floral departments were also expanded and can now serve any size party or event, the grocery said.

With a focus on energy efficiency, the store features LED lighting as well as new refrigerated cases.

To celebrate the grand reopening, the ShopRite is hosting a variety of in-store food sampling events and giveaways now through May 13.

Zallie Family Markets will host the grand opening of the new ShopRite of Center Square Plaza on Sunday, June 4. The store, located in Woolwich Township, New Jersey, will replace the ShopRite of Gibbstown which closed for business on April 13.

Wakefern Food Corp., the country’s largest retailer-owned cooperative, includes ShopRite supermarkets in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland, serving millions of customers each week.
