Baloian Farms Took Home People’s Choice Award

Baloian Farms was named the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the 4th Annual Fresno Food Expo for their squash with seasoning kits. The expo was held Thursday July 24th and included exhibitors from more than 120 food and beverage companies from the San Joaquin Valley. In addition to the exhibitors, the Expo hosted more than 700 retail and foodservice buyers before a public taste testing open to more than 1000 local consumers. This was the fourth year of participation for Baloian Farms and they had two products featured in the New Product Showcase along with 42 other new food and beverage products from the region. Baloian showcased their new Sophia La Rosa sweet red onions and their Squash Sauté Kit with seasonings which won not only the People’s Choice Award with more than 1,000 votes, but was also a finalist for the Buyer’s Choice Award. Participants eligible for submission in this category were judged on innovation, presentation and marketability. “We are very excited to have been recognized. Among so many great products in a variety of categories, it is great to see our product shine and continue to gain recognition for the important role that fruits and vegetables play in the local food economy of California’s central valley,” says Jeremy Lane, sales manager. Richard Cowden, a member of the Baloian sales team took the lead at the Expo presenting the product in the Buyer’s Choice interview, meeting with buyers and interacting with consumers as he cooked up samples of the Squash Sauté Kits. He remarked, “Overall, the Fresno Food Expo was an incredible day for Baloian Farms. From sampling our products to consumers, to interacting with buyers, it was a great way to interact with food lovers close to home and highlight all that we do.” Baloian Farms Squash Sauté Kit with Seasonings kits are available in two flavors including Parmesan with Herbs and Roasted Red Pepper. The kits contain three pieces of fresh squash and a premeasured season packet. Prep and cook time is about five minutes making the product easy for consumers to prepare removing the guess work.
