Dean Foods Extends its Offerings with Extended-shelf-life Milk

Dean Foods now offers its West Coast retail customers extended-shelf-life (ESL) products. Our regional white milk brands and national TruMoo brand (chocolate and strawberry flavors) will be available in ESL for distribution in early March. Extended-shelf-life provides several advantages to our retails customers including fewer out-of-stocks due to longer shelf life, fewer deliveries, shipping over greater distances and reduction in out-of-code product, reducing product dump for the retailer. Our ESL white milk will be available in quarts and 14-ounce single-serve bottles. TruMoo chocolate and strawberry milk will be available in half gallons, quarts and 14-ounce single-serve bottles. In addition to offering a longer shelf life, the quarts and single serve bottles will now be available in consumer preferred packaging with a full bottle wrap and screw cap. Regional white milk brands offering extended-shelf-life include Model Dairy - Northern Nevada, Berkeley Farms - Northern California, Alta Dena - Southern California and Meadow Gold - Southern Nevada and Hawaii.   Dean Foods is now offering its retail customers in California, Nevada and Hawaii the same TruMoo chocolate milk, now packed with 25 grams of protein. Consumers are looking for protein in their beverages and in their dairy, say company officials, adding that TruMoo Protein is a perfect fit. This extended shelf life product comes in an assortment of flavors and is offered in 14-ounce single-serve bottles. Available flavors include Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry and Cookies n' Cream.   In California specifically, Dean Foods is upgrading its packaging to offer these select beverages in a 59-ounce clear plastic carafe container: These include: Knudsen Orange Juice, Alta Dena Orange Juice, The Original Arnold Palmer Tee and POG - (Pineapple Orange Guava)
