Retailers can increase their white milk sales by stocking Got Milk? milk flavoring straws from Magic Straws, LLC. Got Milk? straws are available in 13 flavors, including the core flavors of chocolate, strawberry banana, cookies ‘n crème, and seasonal flavors such as cotton candy, wild berry and orange crème for summer, and cinnamon bun and Neapolitan for fall and chocolate candy cane for the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter Magic Straws will be teaming with Dippin-Dots to release a few limited edition Dippin-Dots Magic Milk Straws in early 2013. “It is a way to enjoy the flavors of an American classic ice cream treat for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” says Paul Henson, vice president, marketing, at Bloomington, Minn.-based Magic Straws, LLC. “Most of our straws are for children, however, we do get a teen following and we also get people on diets,” Henson says. “We get at least two e-mails a month from people who say our product is perfect because they are on Weight Watchers and cannot drink chocolate milk anymore.” Each straw flavors 10-ounces of milk. A six-pack box has a suggested retail of $1.99. Individually-wrapped straws are available in four flavors that retail between 39- and 59-cents each. A 36-count variety pack bag is also available, as well as a 48-count tube canister containing six different flavors.
