This new fortified tofu will come in two varieties, Firm and Extra Firm. The DHA contained in House Foods Tofu with DHA Omega-3 is sourced from Vegan Algal Oil and adds no significant smell or taste, company officials add. DHA is a major structural fat found in the brain and retina, also a key component of the heart and cardiovascular system. “The International Food Information Council’s 2013 and 2014 Food & Health Surveys show that Omega-3 is one of the key nutrients/ingredients, we discovered consumers most readily take or add to their diets,” says Yoko DiFrancia, Manager, PR & marketing of House Foods.  “Adding it to our products provides our consumers with another healthy tofu option."
