Potandon Produce Announces New Packing Location

Potandon Produce is becoming the exclusive marketing agent for the Highland Growers Cooperative and its associated packing facility Idaho Sunfresh located in Rigby, Idaho. With the addition of Highland and Idaho Sunfresh, Potandon represents six cooperatives in Idaho and nine cooperatives nationwide, with a total of 15 potato packing facilities. “We have been working with Highland and Idaho Sunfresh for the past several weeks to complete the deal and are now pleased to have the opportunity to grow our Idaho Russet Burbank potato supply base,” says Dick Thomas, senior vice president of sales. The reputation of Potandon as the industry leader in marketing fresh potatoes and its history of continuous growth and innovation were key components in bringing Highland and Idaho Sunfresh into the group. “The Highland growers are quality-driven and have an excellent reputation of putting out a great crop year after year,” says Dave Robison, one of the new Idaho Sunfresh owners. “Our prior experience with Potandon’s processes and its staff made the decision to join them quite easy and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship.” Regarding the addition, Dick Thomas further stated that, “With this added high quality supply, Potandon will be in an even stronger position to continue providing superior service to existing customers and allow us to pursue new foodservice and retail customers.”
