Thykk and creamy Icelandic Smári will debut four Whole Milk flavors this month, taking over even more shelf space in grocer’s coolers. Since its debut, the traditional Icelandic yogurt brand has won loyal fans and foodie awards from coast to coast, company officials say.

Smári’s new flavors, Whole Milk Black Cherry and Chia, Whole Milk Key Lime, Whole Milk New Orleans Coffee, and Whole Milk Pineapple, will be added to their other Whole Milk flavors, Pure and Vanilla.

"It is crucial that our bodies have fat to fully utilize the vital minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients in our foods. Smári has revolutionized Icelandic yogurt, which has been made nonfat for over a thousand years, by being the first to keep the fat,” says brand founder Smári Ásmundsson. “Now people can have even more Whole Milk options, which are hard to find, and experience our delicious new flavors and amazingly thick pasture-based, organic yogurt.”

Made from organic, grass-fed milk and the finest fruit, organic Smári is thicker than Greek yogurt and has less sugar and more protein (up to 17-grams) than virtually all other yogurts on the market, company officials add.

This month, Target stores nationwide will begin carrying most of Smári’s Whole Milk flavors and Nonfat favorites (Coconut, Peach, Strawberry, Blueberry, Vanilla, and Pure).

Smári is also available nationwide at Whole Foods, The Fresh Market, National Co Op Grocers, and other fine grocers.
