Wegmans has once again announced a list of more than 65 products with prices frozen through August 24. Even if costs go up for these products, Wegmans will not increase the retail price during this period. (Counting all flavors/varieties, the number of items – SKUs – totals more than 300.) The complete list will be available on wegmans.com on Thursday, April 4. “Based on every measure we have considered, it is clear that the simplicity and relevance of a seasonal list where prices are locked in for several months works for our customers,” says President Colleen Wegman. “And, it is not just a way to budget and save money; it’s also a tool for planning a healthy meal.” As with previous lists, selections in meat, seafood, produce, grocery, dairy, bakery, frozen foods, and deli are included. Organic products are also well represented on the list. There are 14 different produce items including such things as grape tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lemons, limes, and organic salad greens. The list is made up almost exclusively of Wegmans brand products, because the company can be more aggressive with pricing its own brand. The company also confirmed that they will continue to offer free prescriptions (up to a 90-day supply) for Atorvastatin through the end of 2013.
