ST. LOUIS — Schnuck Markets here last week opened “Schnucks Cooks Cooking School,” a new, state-of-the-art cooking and teaching facility on the upper level of its newest supermarket location in Des Peres, Mo. The new cooking school is a spinoff of the retailer's popular “Schnucks Cooks” in-store demonstration stations.
The new Des Peres facility will offer classes “on a wide range of topics such as wine and food pairings, the proper use of knives, and ways to ‘wow’ your friends with your skill and panache,” Kathy Gottsacker, Schnucks' director of food education and culinary arts, said in the release. “We have created opportunities for food experiences that will ensure hours of fun and entertainment.”
Scott Schnuck, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, added that while there are no plans to build additional schools at this time, customers can look for a growing number of Schnucks Cooks demonstration stations as Schnucks remodels and modernizes its stores throughout the region.
