A&P to Roll Out Discounts for Seniors

MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P here said Thursday that it would launch special weekly discount programs for seniors at all of its banners beginning next week.

The programs, offering 5% discounts to customers age 55 and over are modeled after a program currently available to shoppers at Waldbaums, a company-owned banner.

"Senior Appreciation Mondays" begin Monday at all Pathmark stores and "Senior Appreciation Tuesdays" start April 5 at SuperFresh stores in the Baltimore area. The same program will launch April 19 at A&P, Food Emporium and remaining SuperFresh stores. Discounted items exclude milk, pharmacy items, tobacco and beer wine and spirits.
