INDIANAPOLIS — Marsh Supermarkets here is planning to test a new mobile marketing idea at two stores before the end of the year, said Mark Heckman, vice president of marketing.

In the test, consumers in Marsh's marketing areas who text a question to information service ChaCha.com will receive with their answer an offer from Marsh. A shopper who selects the offer would go to one of the test stores, print out the offer there and redeem it at the checkout.

"It's a way to get people into stores," said Heckman.

Marsh also runs a Marsh Mobile program in which shoppers opt to receive text messages on weekly specials, sweepstakes and other promotions.
