hree-quarters of the page was occupied by a photograph of doughnuts on platters. The platters were on top of a table that also held a cup of coffee, a creamer, a glass of orange juice and a small crock of kitchen utensils.

Underneath the photo in large type ran this message: "Dunk a donut for 25 cents each. Try Acme's new and improved, better- tasting donuts and fresh baked bagels! Just 25 cents each."

Officials at the 190-unit chain could not be reached for comment. A source at Acme's King of Prussia, Pa., unit told SN the chain's everyday price for doughnuts is 40 cents each. Some of the varieties are apple, custard, vanilla, raspberry, cinnamon, chocolate and plain, with vanilla or chocolate frosting.
