Omni-channel solution provider ADUSA announced that it has developed integrative capabilities with Mettler Toledo retail scale product lines in a way that is designed to give their supermarket client base more flexibility and vision into omni-channel order processing. “The work that has been done with Mettler Toledo essentially enables fresh foods associates to access our Order/Prep/Queue Management function from any of the scales in the respective department, says Juan C. Perez, CEO of ADUSA.“What this means is that associates can advance the now-serving number for counter orders, as well as process orders from any channel, including kiosks, order-taking tablets, the web and mobile sources, right from the scale’s native interface. The scale already serves perhaps one of the most important functions in the department, but now it will also play an important role in the processing of omni-channel orders.” Officials at ADUSA says it was a natural fit since Mettler Toledo PC-based scales are widely used, and more supermarkets are installing ADUSA’s Omni-Channel Fresh-Foods systems. The integration of the two products serves to connect the physical operation in the fresh foods departments with the burgeoning omni-channel initiatives that many supermarkets are undertaking. Additionally, the cost, space and labor-saving benefits of using the existing scales as multi-purpose devices that plug into the omni-channel initiative should be of high interest to supermarket retailers.
