The third annual Bacon Bash Texas was held on October 18, 2014 down main street in Cranflls Gap, Texas. Bacon Bash Texas is a bacon cook-off and festival created not only to celebrate everyone's favorite breakfast meat, but also to raise money for a local charity called Niki Warms The Cold. The event raised more than $20,000 for the charity, which will help send children with Type 1 Diabetes to Camp Sweeney. This is a jump in charitable donations of over 300% compared to last year’s numbers. In addition, many of the over 750 ticket holders in attendance donated countless coats, blankets, sweaters, gloves and scarves to be distributed to those less fortunate throughout the winter months. Additionally, the event paid out over $2,500 in cash prizes to the top fve teams as determined by the judges and to the People's Choice winner as determined by ticket holders.
