With more than 60% of its grocery shoppers having at least one dog or cat in their household, Stop & Shop announced the launch of a new service for pet owners. Stop & Shop has partnered with accredited pet pharmacy PetCareRx to help fulfill the prescription needs for pet owners. Customers can now have their pet prescriptions filled at their local Stop & Shop pharmacy. "At Stop & Shop, we recognize that pets are members of the family and their health and well-being are of great importance to our customers," said Suzi Robinson, manager of public and community relations, Stop & Shop New England Division. "We're pleased to offer this great convenience for shoppers to pick up prescriptions for their pets when they pick up prescriptions for others in their family." With its new partnership with PetCareRx, Stop & Shop will be able to offer three of the most popular pet prescription items that had previously only been available from veterinarians and online vet pharmacy providers. These include Heartguard Plus, Rimadyl and Frontline Plus. For prescriptions that cannot be filled at a local Stop & Stop pharmacy, the pharmacists will work with PetCareRx to fill and ship the pet medication directly to the owner's home address, arriving within a 2-3 day timeframe. Customers will also receive Gas Rewards points for prescriptions purchased at the pharmacy and through home delivery via PetCareRx when conveniently filling their pets' prescriptions.
