ATLANTA -- The Association for Dressings and Sauces here has created a brochure to help retailers build salad dressing sales during May, which has been designated National Salad Month.

nd dressing sales.

Among the items suggested are camera-ready, point-of-sale art and recipe brochures that can be given to customers.

"We have tips on how they can set up sampling tables and how they increase sales. They are very clean, easy to prepare and inexpensive, and you can sample different types of dressings. Another idea is a weekly coloring contest that covers the youngsters and that encourages the parents to come back week after week," an association spokeswoman told SN.

The association estimated that 12 million gallons of salad dressing will be used in May. May has been declared National Salad Month since 1991.

Free copies of the brochure can be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed, business-size envelope to Celebrate Salads & Sales, Association for Dressings & Sauces, 5775 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, Suite 500-G, Atlanta, Ga., 30342.
