EUROPEAN COUNTRY BREADS RISE AT DEMOULAS

TEWKSBURY, Mass. -- DeMoulas/Market Basket here has introduced a new line of European country breads.

n & sage, roasted red pepper and potato & rosemary.

The 16-ounce loaves range in price from $1.89 for the sun-dried tomato, honey walnut wheat and onion and sage varieties to $2.99 for the potato and rosemary.

A store circular offered descriptions of the product and suggestions for using each of the breads. For example, the circular said that the new onion & sage variety was "as delicious as it sounds," and went on to say, "this bread is filled with onions and laced with sage seasoning. Its rich flavor makes it great for stuffing."

The roasted red pepper bread was also described as "distinct." "A zesty loaf loaded with red bell peppers. Great for any kind of sandwich," the circular assured.

"Come in and try a sample," the circular urged shoppers.

Officials at the 57-unit company could not be reached for comment about the new bread line.
