Price Chopper Names Manager

liam Marth has joined Price Chopper Supermarkets here as manager of the pharmacy department.

Marth was most recently a pharmacy district manager for Phar-Mor, Youngstown, Ohio. He is a licensed pharmacist in five states. The company announced Marth "will help Price Chopper continue to develop our existing business and will also manage our aggressive growth plans." Marth succeeds Robert Mere, who retired from the company in late 1994.

Two Managers Tapped by Finast

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Finast here, a subsidiary of Ahold USA, Parsippany, N.J., has named Stephen Davis manager of pharmacy, overseeing business contracts, and Charles Blake manager of professional services, in charge of pharmacist relations. The 40-store chain has 22 pharmacies.

Davis had been nonfood buyer and was also category manager of health and beauty care. Blake, a pharmacist, was pharmacy supervisor. Blake reports to Davis, who reports to Bill Clarke, vice president of nonfood.

Davis and Blake succeed Ron Foster, former director of pharmacy, who is now a staff pharmacist at Finast's Lakeview and Superior store in Cleveland.

Loren Allenick has assumed Davis' responsibilities as category manager of HBC and continues in his position of category manager of general merchandise. Allenick's title is now director of nonfood procurement.
