Bruno's Taps Candy Buyer

A 32-year veteran of the supermarket industry, Selph's career began at Piggly Wiggly Southern, a Georgia operation. Selph was with Piggly Wiggly Southern when Bruno's acquired the company five years ago.

Church & Dwight Appoints VP

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Church & Dwight Co. here has named Robert A. Davies 3rd vice president and president of its Arm & Hammer division. He succeeds William C. Egan 3rd, who resigned in October.

Davies is a former Church & Dwight veteran, working at the company from 1969 to 1984 and advancing from vice president of marketing to president and chief operating officer. He resigned in 1984 to participate in the leveraged buyout of California Home Brands. As president and chief executive officer of California Home Brands, he successfully built and then sold off the multidivision canning company, the largest transaction being the sale of its Skippy Pet Foods operation to H.J. Heinz in 1993.

Davies reports to Dwight C. Minton, chairman and chief executive officer of Church & Dwight. The firm markets a wide range of household products made with baking soda under the Arm & Hammer name.

Nabisco Biscuit Names Senior VP

EAST HANOVER, N.J. -- Nabisco Biscuit Co. division of Nabisco Foods Group here has named Jerry Noonan senior vice president. Noonan succeeds Doug Donant, who was named president of the Nabisco Sales & Logistics Co. subsidiary.

Noonan is responsible for all facets of marketing for Nabisco's new and established brands, which include nine of the 10 top-selling cookies and crackers in the country. He is also responsible for integrated marketing including consumer and marketing research and promotions.

Noonan had been vice president of marketing for cookies and crackers since 1993. He joined Nabisco in 1992 as category business director for cookies. He previously was with PepsiCo, Somers, N.Y.

Noonan reports to Ray Verdon, president of Nabisco Biscuit.

Quaker Beverage Taps Marketer

CHICAGO -- Quaker Oats Co. Beverage division -- North America here has restructured its consumer marketing group as a result of its post-acquisition integration of the Snapple Beverage Corp. with Quaker's Gatorade business.

Quaker has named Lyle G. Hubbard chief marketing officer, a new position. Hubbard joined Quaker in 1980, and was most recently president of the convenience foods division of Quaker's Diversified Grocery Products division. Hubbard is credited with leading the turnaround in sales and profitability of Quaker's rice cakes business. A successor to his post has not yet been named.

Hubbard reports to Donald R. Uzzi, president of Quaker Oats Co. Beverage division -- North America. Also reporting to Uzzi are the heads of all other North American Beverage division functions.
