Fleming Appoints Operations Controller

has appointed Dan Esmon operations controller and announced two additional executive promotions.

Esmon, who most recently served as inventory/purchasing controller, succeeds Kevin Twomey. Twomey was elected vice president and corporate controller by the board of directors.

Having joined the company in 1974, Esmon held a number of positions including controller of the Wichita division and director of internal audit at the corporate office.

Also promoted was Jerry Duncan, who assumes Esmon's previous role as inventory/purchasing controller. He joined the company in 1962.

In addition, Robert LaFave was appointed Fleming's new manager of accounting systems, a position previously held by Duncan. He joined the company in 1986, most recently serving as accounting manager for the combined Oklahoma City and former Scrivner divisions.

Visa Names New Senior VP

SAN FRANCISCO -- Visa USA here has named Armen Khachadourian senior vice president of merchant relations, a new position.

A 12-year veteran of Visa, Khachadourian previously served as vice president of merchant relations, project leader in systems development and manager of corporate services and technical support. He also previously held positions in NCR, San Francisco.

Khachadourian will be responsible for emerging market development for Visa cards in warehouse clubs, supermarkets and government markets.
