Pillsbury Names Group President
re has named Richard H. Lenny president of Pillsbury Specialty Brands, a new position.
In this post, Lenny, 43, directs a newly organized group responsible for marketing the Old El Paso, Progresso, Underwood, Van de Kamp's and Ac'cent brands. Current sales for these brands, which were obtained by Pillsbury as part of its previously announced acquisition of Pet Inc., are approximately $1 billion.
Lenny joins Pillsbury from Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., where he was most recently senior vice president of sales and customer services.
Lenny reports to Paul S. Walsh, chief executive officer of Pillsbury and chairman and chief executive officer of Pet Inc.
Pillsbury said Pet will be formally merged into Pillsbury on May 12. Pet's St. Louis headquarters will be closed in the process and about 150 of its current staff of 550 will be offered job opportunities at Pillsbury's headquarters here.
Kraft Foods Appoints Senior VP
NORTHFIELD, Ill. -- Kraft Foods here has named Philip F. Pellegrino senior vice president of sales and customer service. He succeeds Richard H. Lenny, who left the company.
Pellegrino provides strategic direction for Kraft Foods sales and customer service organizations in his new position. He joined the company in 1964 as an Oscar Mayer sales trainee and has held numerous senior sales positions since then, including executive vice president for Kraft USA Sales.
He reports to John D. Bowlin, president and chief operating officer of Kraft Foods.
Kraft Foods is a division of Philip Morris Cos., New York.
Vice President Tapped at Bruno's
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Bruno's here has named Eric Bishop vice president of category management-grocery, a new position.
Bishop, who has been with Bruno's since 1975, is responsible for procurement and merchandising of all grocery product groups. Bishop has held numerous posts with Bruno's, including grocery buyer and director of grocery merchandising.
Bishop reports to Robert F. Johnson, senior vice president of marketing.
Bruno's operates 253 supermarkets in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and South Carolina.
VP Is Elected at Scott Paper
PHILADELPHIA -- Scott Paper Co. here has named Randolph C. (Russ) Rogge vice president of its Consumer Products business in North America.
In this new position, Rogge leads the development and implementation of new programs and consumer strategies for the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Rogge has more than 20 years of industry experience with Richardson-Vicks and its successor Procter & Gamble Co. His most recent position at Procter & Gamble was vice president and general manager of its skin care products division, including Oil of Olay, Noxzema and Clearasil products.
Rogge reports to Richard R. Nicolosi, senior vice president of Worldwide Consumer Products at Scott.
Nabisco Taps Hot Cereals Director
PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Nabisco here has named E. Lori Halivopoulus to the new post of director of hot cereals for its Specialty Products Co.
Halivopoulus, formerly a product manager for Nabisco Biscuit, is responsible for all marketing activities in the Cream of Wheat and Cream of Rice franchises. She reports to Larry Benders, managing director of hot cereals.
