Harps Stores' President Retires

ood Stores here said Don Harp has retired as president after 53 years with the company.

He is succeeded by his brother, Gerald L. Harp, who assumes the president's post, as well as the vacant title of chairman. Gerald Harp previously was vice president, operations, and started with the family-owned business in 1954.

In another change, the 38-store company promoted Roger B. Collins to executive vice president and chief financial officer, a new position. He has worked for Harps since 1986, most recently as vice president of finance and administration.

Also, Harps named Kim Eskew to the vacant position of vice president of merchandising and advertising. Eskew, who has been with the company since 1977, was previously director of merchandising and advertising.

Winn-Dixie Names District Manager

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Winn-Dixie here has named Scott Northcut to the newly-created position of district manager for its 85-store Midwest division here.

Northcut has been with Winn-Dixie 21 years, most recently as work methods supervisor for the division.

He is responsible for the sales, conditions and profits of 15 stores, all in Kentucky. He reports to Gary Allen, retail operations superintendent.
