Fresh Foods Team Created by Hughes

Dave Wolff, formerly vice president of deli and dairy, has been named to the new position of group vice president, reporting to Mike Shultz, senior vice president.

Reporting to Wolff is Jean Dreshner, who has been named director of the dairy-deli department. Dreshner was the deli-dairy buyer and has been with Hughes since 1979.

Jim McClaskey was named director of the meat department, vacating the position of director of service deli. McClaskey was appointed meat manager in 1983 and meat supervisor in 1989.

Joe Rodriquez takes over McClaskey's former position as director of the service deli department. Employed by Hughes since 1977, Rodriquez became meat department supervisor in 1992.

Waterbury Names Unit CEO

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Waterbury Holdings here has appointed Ed Zimmerman president and chief executive officer of its new subsidiary, Rondele Foods.

Zimmerman is now also chief executive officer of Waterbury affiliates Franklin County Cheese and Frank Hahn Inc. He reports to Waterbury Holdings' chief executive officer, Bill Davis.

Zimmerman was president and chief executive officer of Gardenia Foods Co., a subsidiary of Stella Foods. He has been in the dairy industry for more than 18 years.

Tyson Taps VP of Division

SPRINGDALE, Ariz. -- Tyson Foods here has announced several new appointments in sales and marketing.

John Curran has become vice president and general manager for Tyson's retail fresh division, succeeding Davis Lee, who left the company. Most recently Curran was vice president of sales and marketing for the company's Wholesale Club division. He has been a sales manager with the company since the acquisition of Holly Farms in 1989, and was previously in sales management with Harkers Meats in LeMars, Iowa. Greg Huett has taken over Curran's former duties, becoming vice president and general manager of the Wholesale Club division. Huett was general manager of Trasgo, Tyson's joint venture operation in Torreon, Mexico. He has been with Tyson since 1984. Formerly vice president of sales for Tyson's Foodservice division, John S. Lea has become vice president and general manager of the Retail Further-Processed division, succeeding Jack Dunn. Since joining Tyson in 1984, Lea has held various management positions, including division sales manager in food service. Jerry Dowd has taken over Lea's duties as vice president of sales and marketing for the Foodservice division.

Blue Mountain Adds Post

EMMAUS, Pa. -- Blue Mountain Brands here has appointed Jeffrey A. Griffiths to the new position of national sales manager.

Griffiths responsibility is to introduce the company's line of aquacultured fish to retailers nationwide.

Griffiths spent five years with MacKnight Inc., an importer and producer of smoked salmon, where he was responsible for maintaining a base of 125 domestic customers.

Blue Mountain Brands is the food marketing division of Integrated Food Technologies Corp. The company's preview product line includes hybrid striped bass and other whole, whole/gutted, filleted or smoked finfish products.
