Price Chopper Adds Marketing VP Post

appointed to the new position of vice president of marketing by Price Chopper Supermarkets here. He is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing budgets and strategies, including sales and customer promotions. Lowe reports to Joe Livorsi, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Lowe has been with Price Chopper since 1970, when he was a corporate sales promoter. He was most recently vice president of grocery and general merchandise. That position will not be filled.

Certified (California) Names VP

LOS ANGELES -- Certified Grocers of California here named Margaret Huebner vice president of human resources and labor relations. She reports to Alfred A. Plamann, president and chief executive officer. She previously was vice president of human resources at NavCom Defense Electronics, El Monte, Calif., a defense contractor.

Huebner succeeds Don Grose, senior vice president of human resources and labor relations, who retired. Grose joined Certified in 1981 as vice president of human resources and was named senior vice president in 1988.

In another change, Dan Bane, senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer, has added administrative responsibilities to his list of duties. His new title is senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer. He continues to report to Plamann.

Pueblo Division Taps Perez

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- Pueblo Xtra International here appointed Edwin Perez president of its Puerto Rico division, based in San Juan. He reports to Bill Keon, president and chief executive officer of Pueblo. For the past three and a half years, Perez had been president of Amigo Supermarkets, also in Puerto Rico.

Perez succeeds Hector Quinones, who retired to pursue personal interests but will stay on as a consultant, said the company. Quinones had been with Pueblo for 35 years and had held the title of president for the last five years.

The Puerto Rico division is Pueblo's largest, with 46 stores.

Stop & Shop Appoints VPs

QUINCY, Mass. -- Stop & Shop Cos. here has named two vice presidents.

Thomas Keller was named vice president and general sales manager of its Boston division. He was most recently president and chief operating officer of Purity Supreme, North Billerica, Mass., which was acquired by Stop & Shop last year. Since that time, he has worked as a transition leader between the two companies.

Keller succeeds Dean Cohagan, who was named vice president and general sales manager for the company's Connecticut division. Cohagan has been with Stop & Shop since 1969.

Cohagan succeeds George Pauley, who was named to a new position within the company.

Both Keller and Cohagan are responsible for the sales, marketing, merchandising and profitability of their divisions. They report to William Grize, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
