Giant Eagle on Tuesday will begin offering home delivery of groceries in central Ohio via a partnership with delivery service Deliv, according to a report in the Columbus Dispatch.
The Pittsburgh-based chain already offers online ordering with store pickup through its Curbside Express service, and will use the same platform to allow customer to request home delivery through Deliv, the report said.
“We are filling thousands of customer orders monthly in central Ohio. It has clearly been a convenience that customers appreciate,” Dan Donovan, a Giant Eagle spokesman, told the newspaper.
The chain launched home delivery in its headquarters market of Pittsburgh earlier this year. It has offered Curbside Express in several markets since 2012.
In Columbus, Giant Eagle is offering the fist delivery for free and charging $12.95 for subsequent deliveries.
Other Grocers in the market offering delivery include Meijer, which has a partnership with third-party service Shipt. Instacart also operates in the market, delivering from Costco, Kroger, Whole Foods and others.
