GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Good Humor-Breyers here is mixing things up in 1996 with the introduction of Breyers Blends, which pair branded "mix-ins" with Breyers ice cream.

l House Cappuccino. Breyers Blends are available in quarts nationwide and in pints in all areas except the Northeast.

Good Humor-Breyers is also expanding its presence in the "good-for-you" packaged ice cream. New fat-free flavors include Mint Cookies in Cream and Vanilla/Chocolate/Strawberry. New low-fat flavors include French Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Praline Almond. The company has also added a butter pecan light ice cream.

Good-Humor Breyers has also added several varieties of frozen yogurt and has added a cappuccino flavor to its Vienetta line of frozen desserts.

On the novelty side, Good-Humor Breyers is teaming with Hershey's to offer several new items, including ice cream sandwiches, bars and cones. The company is also offering reduced-fat and/or fat-free varieties of its Klondike bars and Popsicle products. Other Popsicle additions include a Bubble Play Bar, Junior Juice Pops, Rainbow Juice Jets and Tingle Twisters.

To help consumers spot the company's "good for you" products, packages for all such products will include one of two symbols. The words "Eat Healthy, Eat Well" will appear on products that meet the Food and Drug Administration definition of "healthy." The words "Eat Better, Eat Well" will appear on products that have been formulated to be lower in fat, calories or sugar than regular products.
